These integrated circuits are, as we say, just for fun!
SoundELM701 - Solid State Mouse
LightELM711 - Christmas LEDs Driver
ELM712 - LED Runner
A novelty circuit for generating random mouse-like chirps via a piezo element. Fun for small battery-powered applications. ELM701P (8-pin PDIP): $8.00 ELM701SM (8-pin SOIC): $8.00

This device has five outputs for controlling groups of light emitting diodes (LEDs). It comes pre-programmed with eight different patterns that can be selected using a single pushbutton. To keep costs down, that same pushbutton also controls the power. Typically, this IC is used to control LEDs on a Christmas tree, but you may have other ideas - it's a great novelty circuit. ELM711P (8-pin PDIP): $8.50 ELM711SM (8-pin SOIC): $8.50

This stand-alone novelty LED flasher chip is designed for battery powered applications. Activated by a single pushbutton, this circuit wakes up, flashes each of five LEDs sequentially for about 15 seconds, then goes back to its low power sleep mode (where current consumption is almost too low to measure!). Great for campaign buttons, birthday gifts, etc. ELM712P (8-pin PDIP): $8.00 ELM712SM (8-pin SOIC): $8.00
